Galentine wine for your favourite

One of my favourite days of the year actually falls on the 13th February – Galentines Day! So I posted a reel pairing wine to some of my favourite onscreen female friendships!

I also had fun dressing up for this one – love the no rules for Galentines Day!

Amy and Molly from Booksmart – Irresistible Pais £8.50 @coopuk

A nerdy delightful wine made for two adorable nerds. The Chilean native grape, Pais, is often overlooked, but this version, made from 130 yr old vines packs in plenty of ripe boysenberry and blueberry fruit complete with anise spice and enticing coffee husk notes.

Food Pairing:  Bring out all the comfort food with this opulent yet well made wine. The balanced fruit and acidity make it perfect for pizza, pasta with ragu, pate and crackers or even coffee cake and chocolate brownies.

Cher, Dionne and Tai from Clueless – Hola Mediterraneo Brut Rose Cava £14.99 @laithwaites.wine

This party bottle is classy yet accessible, on point for our glam trio from the 90s. It also is only 8.5% alcohol so have fun fueling the evening away and pretending you are living up the sunny Californian lifestyle!

Food Pairing: The red berry fruit with a grapefruit twist makes this perfect for bougie cheeseboards or sushi platters. The ideal appetizer or canape pairing!

Thelma and Louise – Nero Oro, Nero d’Avola Appassimento £11.99 @majesticwine

This bold version of a Nero d’Avola made by drying out the grapes in the sun ( the appassimento technique) is dry yet full of luscious plum fruit , cinnamon and clove spice with a delightful figgy fruit finish.

Food Pairing: Like this female duo, this wine calls for intense and powerful pairings. Think short ribs, fragrant tagines, charcuterie boards or big hunks of parmesan. It would also be fantastic with chocolatey desserts…

Which female friendships will you be channeling this Galentine?
