Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day everyone!

I am celebrating today and last week’s International Malbec Day by raising a glass of:
Gaia Malbec from Argentinan producer @domainebousquetarg
Available at Waitrose at £18.00
What makes this a perfect wine to toast such an important day?
Gaia is named after the Goddess of Earth – check out the beautiful label – and
Domaine Bousquet is Argentina’s leading exporter of organic wines
BUT THIS WINE HAS LEVELED UP…
This wine is not only Organic and Biodynamic –
It is also the first wine in the UK to have the above certifications PLUS a
Regenerative Organic Certification
What does that mean?🤓
Regenerative Organic Certification ( ROC) farms/ wineries focus on three big things: healthy soil, happy animals and fair treatment for workers. It’s farming that goes beyond organic to actually regenerate the land!
Why it Matters?🌎
ROC wineries or farms don’t just avoid harmful chemicals – they improve soil health, boost biodiversity and even fight climate change with measurable outcome and continuous improvements.
Taste Wise? 🍷
I adored this Malbec’s intense blackcurrant fruit which is boosted with juicy bright acidity and supple tannins. There is an elegance and purity to this wine unlike many confected examples of Malbec out there.
It could be argued that this wine’s balance and complexity is primarily because the regenerative organic practices improve soil health, grape quality and overall ecosystem resilience.
It also tastes better knowing that that it is giving back to the Earth and looking out for workers at the same time!
Have you come across ROC products before? Would it influence you?
Just look for the ROC label on wine/ food products if you are curious!
