Hosting Chef Masterclasses and Wine Tastings at Taste Spain

From sizzling pans to perfect pours… this was Spain on a plate! 🇪🇸✨
Hosting two incredible chef demos and wine pairings at last week’s Taste Spain event was an absolute joy — the energy, the flavours, the people 💫
Huge thanks to the brilliant teams from @caminolondon and @arrosqd for bringing Spain to the UK — from learning about the Art of Pinchos to the Secrets of Cooking Paella masterclass that had everyone captivated 🔥
And of course… discovering some truly amazing Spanish wines along the way 🍷❤️

The Art of Pinchos with Camino’s Nacho Del Campo
🍖🍖🍖
This was a gastronomic smorgasbord with 3 pinchos prepared by Basque chef icon @nachodelcampo and 7 (!) wines curated by Camino’s owner and resident Spanish wine expert, Richard Bigg.
The ribeye and Presa Iberica were sensational but I adored Nacho’s creative take on a vegan pincho which featured Roasted Carrot and Avocado (pic ). The Txakolina Basque White from Bodegas Hika, with its slight spritz, baked pear fruit and hint of chamomile gave these veggies extra pizzaz!
The Secrets of Cooking Paella with Arros QD’s Eduardo Salazar
🍚🍚🍚
Hailing from Valencia, Eduardo gave us the most dynamic masterclass on what Paella means to Valencian culture and identity and how to make it at home.
KEY POINT: Only use Bomba rice!
We enjoyed traditional Paella Valenciana ( chicken, rabbit and beans) and a fantastic vegetarian mushroom rice which featured truffle cream. A wonderful twist on the usual vegetable stock.
Both wines were curated by Head Somm Marina Diaz. The Rosé Cava from @juveycamps demonstrated how gastronomic Cava can be and everyone adored sparkling Albarino from @mardefrades_uk . A sensational option for ALL Albarino lovers.
You know a masterclass has been a success when you end up booking into both featured restaurants straight after!
I can’t wait for my restaurant trips to come and thank you so much to both teams for sharing their slice of Spanish flavour and heritage with everyone today.
Salud!
