Orin Swift Wine Supper club at Julie’s, Holland Park’s chicest bistro

Some thoughts on why this evening meant so much to me and some good news which I wanted to share..
This evening was especially close to my heart as:
🍷 Julies was my local wine bar growing up. It has always been a family favourite where we have incredible wine and always a fun and relaxing time.
🍷 Orin Swift is a wine brand which I discovered with my American family over a decade ago. When I met the winemaker, Dave Phinney, it only made me respect the wines more. His drive, creative vision, modesty and refreshing straight talking was inspiring.
🍷Bringing these two together felt like a natural pairing – both are playfully edgy, creative, take customer’s seriously but are all about pleasure and over delivering.
Last week’s tasting for me was especially poignant as it reminded me of the wine supper clubs I used to host in my basement flat, when I first started my business in 2013.
They were called Basement Bacchanalia and each week I had such pleasure bringing likeminded, fun people together over delicious wine and my own homecooked food… thank goodness I am not responsible for the latter anymore!
Evenings like this remind me why I do what I do. Getting people excited trying new wine, making new friends and being delightfully in the moment is one of life’s true pleasures.
An added bonus was when everyone left they asked when the next event was..
And I can happily say that there will be more Orin Swift events and more wine supper clubs at Julie’s in the future.
So watch this space and in the meantime, cheers to wine and its ability to bring fantastic people together and create such special moments.
